I was disappointed that it wasn't hotter!

This sauce is exceptionally hot, while at the same time it's exceptionally flavorful. Too many sauces in this category bring heat just for heat's sake. Not so with 1498. Just start out with small doses and then work your way up.
Enjoy!

I love love love this hot sauce. Got it at Smorgasburg in DUMBO and can't get enough. Great with sausage and mashed potatoes, or anything! Really spicy, but still really flavorful.

This is one of the best hot sauces on the market today. It has good heat from the Scorpion peppers, and a very complex taste made up of a variety of flavors. There are plenty of hotter hot sauces, but very few have such a great flavor and maintain the same amount of heat. Chileheads will still not be disappointed.
You can taste peppers, cider vinegar, blueberries and apricot distinctly, giving this a rather unique but complex flavor. In comparison to Cauterizer, it is not quite as hot, but the flavor is more balanced. No one flavor stands out above the rest, where the cider vinegar and peppers are both stronger in Cauterizer.
When I wrote my review for Cauterizer, I said that it might be the best hot sauce out there. And I stand by that, which leaves 1498 right behind.

I use Dawn's Trinidad sauce to add heat to my favorite BBQ sauce. Some think this is to hot to mess with but I use it to add crazy hot heat to my Sweet & Smoky BBQ and so can you.

This hot sauce is everything I was looking for in terms of flavor. I love the fruity, flowery flavors of habaneros and was hoping for the same with the Trinidad Scorpion pepper. This sauce does not disappoint. Next time I may go with the Cauterizer, however, since I have had acclimated to eating some smoking hot ghost pepper sauce and want a little more kick.

This sauce is very tasty. Its got an excellent heat to it as well. And unlike alot of sauces the flavor "sticks" to your mouth as well as the heat. Not alot of sauces do this for me. So tasty.

By far, one a the best tasting hot sauces, ever! Glenn from Suzie's Hot Shoppe turned me on to this. The heat is pretty good. (I can handle bizarro heat) This sauce is awesome on pizza and, believe or not, mixed in with home-made mac n cheese. I love this stuff!

I cannot get enough of this fine sauce. Superb taste and punchy heat...great!

With an initial blast, an exquisite bouquet of flavor, and a slow lingering burn, this stuff has it all.
Without the heat, this would still be an exceptional sauce, the flavors are reminiscent of a perfectly made jerk sauce. With the perfect level of heat (a lick tastes great, a spoonful makes me sweat) it really stands out.
As others have said, there are hotter sauces out there, but in my opinion, any hotter than this would block the subtle flavors that turn eggs into heaven and everything else into bliss.
Hoping it's back in stock soon, down to my last two bottles!

I am not a big fan of super melt your face hot food or sauce in general but I do like a little heat. This is why when I was told that the sauce had the highest heat I wasn't that excited but I liked the bottle design and thought Id try it. Holy cow that is good. Heat aplenty but balanced with delicious flavor. I took it home for my Father in law to try. Being an 80+ year old southerner I figured his judgment would be better than mine. He nearly finished the bottle at one sitting. in Fact the whole family loved it. I'll be buying more soon.

Ran into this at the Main Street Restaurant in Saugerties. Perfect blend of heat and flavor. I was surprised to learn it is brewed just a few miles down the road. I can't wait to have this in my own pantry.

I recently sampled this sauce at Zest Fest and was instantly impressed. I bought a bottle and since then have been putting it on almost everything. This sauce is very spicy, but not nearly as intense as some of those "extract" sauces. The real kicker is the flavor, if you are looking for the "hottest" sauce, this is not it, but if you are looking for the best tasting sauce, this is the best hot sauce I have ever had.

This stuff is really delicious! Nice but not overwhelming heat. As Steve suggested, it really is good enough to drink!
